The Buicks have been one of those "been around forever" kind of local
bands in the Bucks County, PA area. Nearly every local musician has done time with the band. Started back in 1980 by current lead guitarist
and a few cronies in an attempt to get the prestigious gigs on the bill for the Bucks County Blues Society (the oldest Blues society still
functioning in the US). Mission accomplished! Played lots of gigs for them. Over the years players have come and gone. Playing mostly blues
covers in local bars, the change to originals and regional playing came about a year ago when the opportunity to produce a CD came into being.
Thanks to help from many sources (Finders Keepers Productions, Alan
Newman: Talent, Gemini II Promotions) The Buicks have had the opportunity to play
every kind of venue from small clubs to giant arenas. The Blues societies from all of the local states (Diamond State in DE,
Glouster County in NJ, and of course Bucks County PA) have been very good to the band as well. Currently gigging in a 5 state region (PA,
NJ, DE, MD, NY) more distant gigs are always a hope. We love to play!!!!
The CD:
Dirty Streets was produced mainly as a demo to get gigs. So many friends and family had expressed interest in getting a copy that it was
decided to have it made into a CD and make it available at gigs. It only contains 6 songs. No real strategic planning had gone into the
choice of songs or the order on the CD. It just kind of came out that way. Currently there is no distribution, but
the CD can be purchased at http://listen.to/thebuicks
